Description
A design icon of the '70s, the beautiful Le Bambole Sofa was originally designed and engineered by Mario Bellini, for C&B Italia. The “frame” is made of vertical edges or elastic membranes that merge shape and fabric. About this innovation Bellini said "not upholstered in fabric, but built in fabric". What makes it special is the apparent absence of a supporting structure, the extreme naturalness of their shape, the synthesis of comfort, softness and elasticity that its appearance communicates effectively.

Mario Bellini
A renowned Italian architect and furniture designer, Mario Bellini's extensive career began in 1963. The New York MoMa holds 25 of his works in their permanent design collection, in addition to decicating a personal retrospective to him in 1987.
