Description

Best known for his chairs and seating pieces - though a master of many furniture types like sofas and tables - Hans Wegner was a prolific designer whose elegant, often ebullient, forms and devotion to the finest methods in joinery made "Danish Modern" a popular byword for stylish, well-made furniture in the mid-20th century. This CH-25 model combines a frame made out of oiled oak and a seat and back constructed of paper cord.

Hans Wegner

Nicknamed the "King of Chairs", Danish designer Hans Wegner created over 500 chairs during his career, 100 of which were mass-produced and have become design icons. Wegner belonged to the pioneering generation whose work constitutes the "Golden Age" of Danish design.
