Description
The Naziri Family Private Collection was built by Mohammad Naziri and his wife Lila over the span of five decades spent sourcing rugs from the remote corners of southern Persia. Showcasing the rich cultural history of the regions, this rug collection was carefully curated by the Naziri family for their parallels to 20th-century modern art movements.
Woven with sentiment by nomadic Qashqai tribes, these rugs were exchanged within the tribes as tokens of affection that hold the stories of romantic love and familial bonds.
Like small, rare jewels, these rugs feature vibrant colours, symbolic motifs and patterns that resonate with the spirit of contemporary artistic expression.
Primarily exhibited and traded to international art dealers and collectors, Elte is honoured to offer one of the greatest private collections in the world.
