Description

A gleaming example of a mid-century office chair, this vintage armchair was designed by Arne Vodder and manufactured by Sibast Furniture, circa 1960s. Carrying all the trademarks of classic Scandinavian mid-century design, the design displays a mix of straight lines and softly rounded corners to inspire high-style for the everyday task. A newly upholstered leather seat and backrest is finely tailored to fit on the slim rosewood frame for a classically elegant look.

Arne Vodder was born in Denmark in 1926 and trained as a cabinetmaker and architect. A student of Finn Juhl at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Vodder is best known for his mid-century modern furniture designs, which tend to be simplistic pieces composed of natural materials such as rosewood and teak, often inspired by the natural forms.
