An iconic chair, this vintage King Chair was designed by Pierre Jeanneret, circa 1950s. Originally designed for the Architect's Office, Secretariat, and administrative buildings in Chandigarh, India, this chair features a solid teak wood frame with a backrest and seat of woven cane. With its raw form, the compass-style legs and low profile give this chair a sculptural simplicity.

Pierre Jeanneret was a Swiss architect and furniture designer, most famous for his role in the design of Chandigarh's large civic architecture project. A lot of his work was alongside his cousin, Le Corbusier.

Pierre Jeanneret

The Swiss-born architect and furniture designer was a visionary of Modernist design. He is most famous for his role in the design of Chandigarh's large civic architecture project, which he worked along-side his cousin, famed architect Le Corbusier.
